- What is Livliga® dinnerware made of?
The Livliga suite of dinnerware is made of sustainable and durable porcelain. It is also lead free and uses only FDA approved, food-safe inks for the decoration on the dinnerware.
- Are the Livliga dinnerware and serveware dishwasher and microwave safe?
Yes. All the Livliga products are dishwasher and microwave safe.
- What are the different lines offered by Livliga?
Currently the Livliga family consists of two different patterns of dinnerware (Vivente and Hälsa), complementary Aveq serveware and glassware. New is our Kidliga children’s line, which includes an award winning book. All dinerware is designed with discrete portion control. Also currently in development are LivSpoons. We can’t wait to introduce them to you!
- What if I only want to buy a set of dinner plates?
You can! In addition to the Livliga dinnerware, available in a 4 piece or 16 piece set, we now have sets of 4 dinner plates, salad plates, bowls and mugs available for purchase. It is highly recommended that you buy individual place settings to receive the full benefit of the Livliga Lifestyle.
- There are so many different dietary requirements in my household, how can the Livliga dinnerware be helpful?
Livliga provides a guide for any kind of dietary requirement. Vegetarians can choose a protein like tofu or beans. If you are a diabetic, you can choose a lower-carb fruit, like raspberries. There is no mandate as to the specific type of food you eat or how you prepare it. It is a guide for amounts and proportions. This encourages pre-planning and mindful eating—something that is important for all of us but particularly for those who have specific dietary requirements. The proportions indicated by the icons and the amounts are still relevant and an important guide for those who are overweight and/or wanting to manage their weight. Being aware of what a balanced meal looks like and what a serving size looks like for each food group, better known as “portion control,” is a great tool for a healthy lifestyle.
- My growing teenagers eat a ton! How can I use the Livliga dinnerware for the entire family?
Livliga dishware provides us a visual cue for the types of food we should be eating at a given meal, the amounts of those foods we should eat (portion control), as well as how much of the types of food we should be eating (serving sizes) in relationship to each other for a balanced meal. Feel free to be flexible with the measurements when it’s appropriate. The sizes of the icons are proportional, reminding us that, for instance, the amount of vegetable or fruit we eat should be double what we eat in starches or grains. It’s a great tool to teach portion control and healthy habits to the most impressionable or stubborn eaters.
- How do I use the plate if my meal isn’t made of distinctly separate food items?
The measurements on Livliga dinnerware provide a visual cue for a balanced diet expressed as the types of food we should be eating at a given meal, the amounts of those foods we should eat, as well as how much of the types of food we should be eating in relationship to each other. You won’t always be using the icons literally. For instance, you won’t use the guides directly when you serve a salad. But you can still let the icons loosely guide how much of each ingredient and dressing you use.
- Can I use my Livliga dinnerware in conjunction with the USDA MyPlate?
The USDA MyPlate is a nutrition guide for what a person should consume on a daily basis for a balanced diet. Livliga Plates and other Livliga dishware can be used in perfect harmony with the USDA MyPlate by providing the framework for a balanced diet and portion control at each meal. According to a pre-planned menu or recipe, you will have a fruit or vegetable, some type of starch or grain, a protein and maybe some dressing or condiment.
